Catherine,
Several issues come to mind with regard to the facile mutability of digital images and their counterparts in 3-D computer generated objects. Certainly Patricia Piccinini’s work “We Are Family” exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2003 www.roslynoxley9.com.au/artists/31/Patricia_Piccinini/profile is an excellent example of how visual images can arouse in the viewer dramatic somatic responses. Can you offer our panelists some additional examples of “triggering” images within the domains of animation, manga and “sci-fi?” Perhaps a link or picture attachment would do?
